Bali (2) : Southern Part of Bali - Tanah Lot | GWK Cultural Park | Uluwatu

12.8.13
It's felt like forever since I've last updated! A month ago to be exact. I had meant to update my Bali trip but I was occupied with work and work trip to Penang, and whenever I have some free time to update after work, the Internet connection was really bad. But I'm back home now and I wanted to share with you the last bit of my Bali trip.

Previously, I've mentioned that we walk to Ubub town. Along the way, people stopped by to offer a ride, but we refused, to save cost and mainly is for safety purpose. It was a sunny day, we were sweaty, wishing to reach our destination as fast as we could. I swear I'm the most noisy traveler ever, due to my super loud roller luggage. I can't imagine myself carry a huge backpack like my friend, Prili. She a petite girl, but she is amazingly strong! I guess I can never be a ''real'' backpacker, even though I have my small backpack on :-S

Arjuna Statue, one of the grand and largest statue I came across in Bali. We head to Ubud town to buy Bus ticket to go back Kuta. Perama Bus station is located at Jalan Hanoman. We were near but we still couldn't find it, we were exhausted and decided to rent two scooter to continue our journey instead, it cost Rp 50,000.  The Perama bus office is just 5 minutes away. We bought our tickets, keep our bags there and continue explore Ubud before we leave.

Somehow, it's a little gross to see the whole roasted pig in the van. Mae & I had our fatty breakfast in restaurant Babi Guling Ibu Oka (Ibu Oka Suckling Pig). We both ordered special suckling pig with rice that cost Rp.30.000 each. Compared to 4 years ago when I first have suckling pig at the exact same restaurant, the portion of the pork was a lot bigger. Anyway, it's still really tasty and worth it. They open business at 11am, it's always better to come early cause the tables are full pretty fast.

I can't remember what the waitress told me about this. But I know its not a wedding

Then, we take a walk around Puri Agung Ubud, which is just opposite the restaurant Ibu Oka. We learned that they were preparing for Ngaben ceremony for an ex Indonesian ambassador.

Prili just started to learn motorcycle not long ago, she already can handle it well. So proud of her! Three friendly stranger posted for a photo while I was taking photo around on scooter. Haha.

Prili enjoying her suckling duck at Bebek Tepi Sawah at Jalan Raya Goa Gajah.

Stroll around Monkey Forest before we leave Ubud.

One of the most popular places of interest in Bali. Tanah Lot is breathtaking, simply awesome. We couldn't get into the temple because of high tides. Besides, the shops along the way to the temple not really worth it, I think you could give them a miss instead.

The massive head and torso of Vishnu at Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park. We arrived at the perfect timing, as the Balinese dance show just about to start in front of  Vishnu statue.

The Balinese dancers express the story of dance drama through their  whole body gestures from head to legs and eyes movements.

Our last destination in southern part of Bali island is Uluwatu. A great place to enjoy sunset..bliss!

My adventure, fun & crazy travel buddies :)

Prili left Bali a day before us. We didn't do much after she left, we just spending most of our time, chilling at Kuta beach. I really adore the classic coca-cola bottle, which you hardly find in most city nowadays.

On the last day, we got up late and just spend time with another friend/ host of us at Seminyak, before we say goodbye. She is very nice to help us call a taxi to her place to send us to the airport.

It's totally a whole new adventure and experience in Bali this time. I had a wonderful time, catching up with Prili and traveling around with buddies; meeting new friendly people around. First time in my life travel around whole day with just a scooter, which made my butt ached so much. Even though it's my second time here, but I still want to go back Bali again one day, to explore some other side of Bali.

Reminder:
As you travel around Bali, always look for Blue Bird Taxi which is in blue color. They are really reliable by using meter, you no need to bargain for the price.
